Canstruction® Calgary brings together teams of engineers, designers, architects and builders to create extraordinary structures out of non-perishable food items. The structures are judged, exhibited to the public, and then de-canstructed, with food going to the Calgary Food Bank. This year, structures are inspired by the theme: Retro Toys and Games, You CAN Play. Nine teams have used more than 44,000 cans of food to create structures that will remain on display at Southcentre Mall until April 21st. Calgarians coming to view the installation are invited to bring a donation of non-perishable items and to vote for their favourite structure in the People’s Choice Awards beginning April 9th. The structures will also be judged by a panel of esteemed Calgarians on April 20th.

Annual 2-Day Spring Art Show & Sale at the Bridgeland-Riverside Community Association with 25 different artists in attendance each day showcasing: Painting, Jewelry, Glass, Photography, Ceramics, Sculpture and Textiles. Sound the alarm! Don’t miss the Engine 23 Opening Party on April 20. The decommissioned firetruck is a showstopper as Calgary Public Library welcomes the community to engage in the experience and visit the newly renovated Fish Creek Library. Activities will begin at 10 am and will include a visit from the Fire Hound Mascot, face painting, live music, and Family Storytime. Engine 23 is generously supported by donors to the Calgary Public Library Foundation.

Vaisakhi Mela 2024 presented by Rajesh Angral with the Collaboration of Sabrang Radio, IWEB GUY, ACE Ent. & Media Group and CMD (Canadian Multicultural Development). We host the World Multicultural Festival annually to celebrate diversity and bring together multicultural communities in Canada to share each others’ cultural heritages.

At the 8th Young Entrepreneurs Annual Business Fair, over 150 students in Grades K-12 showcased and sold their creations. For one day only, hundreds of Calgarians are able to shop at dozens of student businesses at one of Canada’s largest student business fairs.

Life Cycle is a virtual cycling event in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. Taking place throughout the month of June families and cyclists will ride towards their personal fundraising and distance goals as they make a difference for kids across Alberta. Funds raised through Life Cycle will support the Child Life departments at both Alberta hospitals.

All Sport One Day is a free event for youth to discover sport! Taking place at 12 multisport hubs across Calgary, we partner with community sport organizations and facilities to provide thousands of opportunities for youth ages six to 17 to try a new sport!
