YYC Pizza Week is a friendly competition among 40+ pizza places in Calgary! Portions of the proceeds from each pizza sold are donated to Calgary Meals on Wheels. The competition runs from September 21 until September 30. Visit any of the 40+ participating restaurants and inquire about purchasing their feature pizza for YYC Pizza Week. Prices are set by the participating restaurant. Once you have tried the pizzas, vote via the website or download the YYC Pizza Week app on iPhone or Android!

For film and art lovers alike, the Calgary International Film Festival, CIFF, is the place to be! This 12-day festival will showcase up to 200 films submitted from Canada and 50 other countries of multiple genres and lengths. Beakerhead hits the streets September 19 to 23! This city-wide spectacle brings together the fields of art, science, and engineering and bridges the gap between the creative and the technical, often through fascinating, bizarre, and quirky means. Various installations and interactive exhibits will dot the inner-city, culminating at Beakernight, science’s biggest garden party complete with fire, lasers, light, music (and even a rumoured UFO)! Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! Tickets are on sale now for the Award-Winning Harvest Pumpkin Hunts at Butterfield Acres! Off you will go on the tractor-pulled hay wagon, rolling through the crunchy Fall leaves just hoping to find some kid-sized pumpkins! Once you find the pumpkins, you'll bring them back and decorate them into creative pumpkin-head masterpieces! While the glue dries, enjoy a visit with your favorite animal friends in the farmyard! Your visit includes hunting time, pumpkin-decorating (no carving), and a farmyard visit with the animals! Each child takes home their very own pumpkin masterpiece. Plan for 110 minutes. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear something orange to celebrate the season!
