Being a parent may be the most important job in the world; and being a single parent may be the toughest. Walking the fine line between being a pal and being a parent is hard, especially when there is no one else in the house to help with the balancing act.
Many single mothers are raising their families on one income and often child support is iffy at best. But single moms can live well, manage stress and instill in their children a sense of self-worth and stability.
The most important pothole mistake is expecting yourself to be perfect. You will fall into these from time to time. Every parent does. Not to worry. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and use these fixes most of the time.
Does a stay-at-home or single dad have a tougher job than a mom? Many people treat them that way. My husband was the one to care for our daughter after school while I worked. His duties included taking her to Wednesday evening gymnastics classes while I taught at the local community college.
