The Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo (Calgary Expo) is a 4-day annual celebration of all things pop culture including comics, sci-fi, gaming, fantasy, horror, and more for fans of all ages. There is so much to do at Calgary Expo; browse hundreds of vendor booths and exhibits, attend workshops and panels featuring iconic stars and artists, grab new art from world-class creators, and meet your favorite heroes for a photo or autograph. Calgary Expo & Downtown Calgary Association Presents, 8th Annual POW! Parade of Wonders.

The POW! Parade of Wonders is a cosplay parade celebrating pop culture and creativity in Calgary’s downtown, and is also the official kickoff to the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo! It’s free to participate, but there is a catch… to walk in the parade, you must be decked out in cosplay. Expo-goers and downtown office workers alike get involved and join in on the fun and witness this unique event. The parade begins at 10:30am at 8th Avenue and 8th Street, and parades down Stephen Avenue, concluding at Olympic Plaza for the Calgary Expo Opening Ceremony at approximately 11:15am. Over 20,000 spectators show up along Stephen Avenue, especially in the fan zone, to watch more than 5,000 cosplayers (and a few special celebrity guests from Calgary Expo) celebrate fandom!
