Skate To Great National Skate Drive Returns to Calgary .

Skate To Great National Skate Drive Returns to Calgary in advance of the Stars on Ice show. The spring skate drive launches on May 11 at Scotiabank Saddledome, offering an opportunity to kick-start your spring cleaning and donate gently used skates to local kids who need them! Bring your items to the Scotiabank Saddledome on May 11 anytime after 6:30pm. Skate To Great organizers and FedEx Express Canada will be collecting used kids hockey and figure skates, helmets and hockey sticks. To kick off the drive, organizers will be collecting items at Scotiabank Saddledome, where Stars on Ice will be performing. After the kick-off date on May 11, bring your items for donation to one of Skate To Great’s collection locations until May 31. Takes place May 2 to 16, 6am to 6pm. Join for the 32nd Annual Exhibition of Children’s Art from North Mount Pleasant and Wildflower Arts Centres. Celebrate the sculpture, painting, drawing, and mixed media artworks created by young artists, ages 3 to 17. Opening reception takes place May 2 at 5:30pm where the artists will be in attendance. Takes place at the Municipal Building Atrium.

45 local vendors will be selling the very best in produce, honey, fruit, prepared foods, flowers and plants, wellness products, and more. Give the kids a chance to get their hands dirty and learn where their food comes from with the plant-a-bean activity. Swap your favorite recipes with your community at the recipe exchange board, or grab a photo with your grower to win prizes. From 5 to 7pm, The Sadlier-Brown Band will be live on the Sweet Beet Stage with their funky, fun, bluegrass sound. Have dinner at one of the food trucks, and make it an evening of Spring celebration with the whole family!

Bernie's Buddies Spring 2019 Teen Girls' Grief Workshop.

Takes place Wednesdays, May 8 to 29. Bernie's Buddies is a Calgary-based registered charity that helps kids and youth live again after a death loss through Free integrative peer group workshops featuring pet therapy, yoga with mindfulness, and creative grief conversation. Everyone involved from volunteers to facilitators to participants has experienced a death loss, helping to reduce isolation and increase supportive community.
