Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! Tickets on sale now. Event takes places October 5, 11, 12, 19 & 26. Join Butterfield Acres after-hours for a fun Fall evening! Perfect for a night out with your special someone, a girls’ night, or grab a big group of friends! The farmyard opens for visits with the animals at 5pm, until the hunt starts at 6:15pm. From there, you will go on a sunset tractor-pulled wagon ride out through the back pasture to the pumpkin patch. Once everyone has found their pumpkin, you will head back to Prairie Palace for pumpkin carving! Outside, there will be a campfire and enjoy hot chocolate and s'mores. It’s harvest fun at its best! There are a limited number of tickets available for each night. This event sold out last year, so buy your tickets early! Tickets are only available to purchase online (no ticket sales at the door). Tickets are $19.99 plus GST.

Come and enjoy an afternoon listening to stories and some of Canada’s finest musicians. Storyteller/Musician Samantha Whelan Kotkas and her friends will entertain you and your children with musical interactive tales of child-accessible hikes in the Rocky Mountains. Teach your child about courage, unity, joyfulness, and caring in an afternoon of fun and adventure. An event for the whole family that you will want to be a part of. Tickets are on sale now! Harvest Pumpkin Hunts at Butterfield Acres Farm takes place place weekends in October. Off you will go on a tractor-pulled hay wagon, rolling through the crunchy Fall leaves, hoping to find some kid-sized pumpkins! Then you will decorate them into creative masterpieces to take home and, of course, visit with the farm animals, too! Must purchase tickets in advance; call 403-239-0638 or visit the website.

Takes place October 10 and 11. Join the Calgary Farmer's Market for a Thanksgiving Pie Bake-Off! What pie will be on your Thanksgiving table? Here is how it works: Make a cash donation to the Calgary Food Bank (recommended $5 per person). Sample the delicious pies. Vote for your favorite. Pat yourself on the back for helping all Calgarians have food on their plates this Thanksgiving. See you there, it’s going to be slice!

Quest Theatre leaps onto stages across Calgary with a whimsical interactive show for ages 3 to 7 and their families. “It’s gobbly gook, it’s all in the soup, it’s cardiovascular, it’s so spectacular! It’s the marvelous wonderful Flibbertigibbet’s Story Exhibit!” The Story Exhibit has come to town! But where is Mr. Flibbertigibbet? Will Sarah and Alix find the keys to the various story suitcases, and will they have the courage to perform his collection of fantastical tales? Told in a relaxed format through songs, interactive participation, and various puppetry styles, this performance is sure to skyrocket little people’s imaginations, rhythm boxes, wonder wheels, giggle nooks, and funny bones. Family Event at Southland Leisure Centre. Play, swim, jump, splash, and slide! Bring the family to the waterpark for tons of fun including games, music, and prizes. A DJ will be pumping out the tunes as your family enjoys the wave pool, slides, hot tub, and AquaPlay. Suitable for all ages plus an adult.
