Mountain Film - Calgary is part of the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour and was first shown in Calgary in 1980. The organizers presented 4 films they had rented from various Canadian libraries. Over the next 20 years, they brought in more than 50 international mountaineering and adventure speakers. Now, 40 years later, Mountain Film - Calgary brings you the best mountain and adventure films in 2 unique programs over 7 screenings at the Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts at MRU. 2020 marks the 8th year of the Calgary Zoo Penguin Walk! The king penguin colony heads out on the zoo grounds for a daily enrichment walk in the winter months and visitors get to experience the fun! This incredible program allows visitors to get an up-close look at the group of king penguins as they explore, exercise, and waddle their way through the zoo. This is a free-choice activity for the penguins and is subject to weather conditions.
