Our art camps are not kids’ stuff; projects are sophisticated, specialized, and fun with the right balance of classical and modern techniques designed with tweens and teens in mind. Maximum of 10 to 12 students are led by professional artists who hold a B.F.A. Students gain an art education along with confidence in their ability to express their own creativity and style with ease. Students socialize and mentor each other in a comfortable environment.
Headed to vet school or interested in a career working with animals? Get some great first-hand experience at Butterfield Acres! There are summer camps with some amazing animals. Camp Cadicasu is a traditional overnight camp in Kananaskis Country. We have specialty camps available just for tweens and teens (11 to 15 year olds) in addition to our Leader-in-Training program (for 15 year olds). Choose from hiking, backpacking, yoga, earth skills, and martial arts. Camp is the perfect place to meet new friends, learn leadership skills, and have exciting adventures in the woods. We create a safe space to unplug from modern society and reconnect with nature.
A local, volunteer-based charity providing low-income youths the opportunity to experience sponsored outdoor camps in the best possible learning environment, so they can cast their dreams! Learn conservation, fishing, survival skills, and Canadian history. Transportation provided by camp charter bus only. If you know a youth living in low income who could benefit from a fishing camp experience, please have them contact us. Volunteer opportunities also available.
DJD summer dance camps are designed to instill a love of dance in your child! With an emphasis on fun and celebration, students are encouraged to explore challenges, demonstrate creativity, expand movement vocabulary, build confidence, and develop friendships with other students. DJD summer dance camps are where your child will want to spend their summer!
Action-packed camps for preschoolers and youth! Day camps feature unique activities including circus, gymnastics, stunts, and more! Preschool camps feature a fun theme and Youth camps end the week with a performance.
Open year-round to the general community, we offer a variety of programs and services for individuals affected by Learning Disabilities and/or ADHD in Calgary. For tweens and teens, we offer Amicus Camp and Recreation programs including our POLARIS Teen Leadership program; remedial tutoring (Read/Write and Math); psycho-educational assessments; counselling and psychologist-led small groups. Unleash your inner Pirate! Summer Sailing Camps are a fun, safe, and affordable way to learn to sail with nationally-certified instructors. Sailing Camps include on-land and water-based training. As a Community Sailing Club, we have many sailboats and opportunities for youth to continue sailing after their lessons. Join our Youth Team (largest in Alberta), participate in weekend regattas or Wednesday Evening social races. Adventures in Science Day Camp is for ages 11 to 14 and takes place July 16 to August 10, 2019. Explore technology through history! Discover more about the world around you by looking at how things were done in the past. Home on the Range is an overnight camp for ages 11 to 14 and takes place July 2 to August 24, 2019. This program will let young pioneers experience the Park from sunup to sundown for five days.
Several summer programs and camps such as “Rock Skool”; “Glee Club”; “Rock Drumming”; “Preschool Piano Party”; “Fiddle Camp”; “School of Pop” and more are available at select locations. Contact our lesson centres for details and availability. We have a wide variety of carefully-chosen professional instructors offering year-round music lessons in most any instrument. Tweens and teens will have a summer to remember at MRU Kids. Campers aged 9 to 14 can hit Calgary hot spots in Senior Field Trips; explore their wild side in Outdoor Adventures; or make a movie in Reel-two-Real Film School! There’s a camp for every kid, from art to sports to science. Our youth camps feature daily swimming, free before- and after-camp care, and an optional lunch program.
The Performance Program at School of Rock Calgary South is our hallmark music program, where most of our students enroll each year. It consists of a weekly group rehearsal where kids and teens learn by playing rock music’s most iconic songs with a band composed of their peers. Students are assigned songs and parts that are tailored to them based on their age, experience, and ability to learn new skills and concepts. Students then work through their parts in weekly private music lessons, refining the skills and concepts those songs introduce.
Vin Gogh is a unique art studio that serves food and beverages. We do paint events and parties for all ages! Private parties can be booked anytime. Saturday and Sunday mornings, we offer painting for all ages. Our Paint Your Pet events are very popular; we trace your pet onto canvas and teach you to paint eyes, nose, and fur. Youth Central collaborates with over 100 organizations in Calgary to create hundreds of youth-approved service opportunities year-round for youth volunteers. The focus of each volunteer opportunity is to create meaningful, educational, and engaging projects. YVC is open to youth between the ages of 12 and 18.
