In collaboration with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Mydoh – an interactive money management app, has been committed to helping parents raise money-smart kids - has launched the first of many youth mental health initiatives with its #MydohChoreChallenge . From May 7, National Child & Youth Mental Health Day, until June 7th, parents can task and share their kids completing a chore on social media, using the hashtag #MydohChoreChallenge. For every post, Mydoh will donate one dollar to the CMHA, up to $10,000.00, in an effort to support its mission to deliver provincial mental health programs, further equitable access to services, and champion the reduction of mental health disparities in our communities.

Puppet Power: Festival of Ideas, the 10 edition, animates the theme of Celebration! We look at the role inanimate objects have had in ceremonies since time immemorial. We explores the impact and potential of Applied Puppetry in all sorts of of practices. We wonder, who’s at the party, who’s not and whether it’s time to take back the carnival! Local, national, and international master puppeteers and presenters will provide inspiring talks/panels, practical how-to workshops, and puppetry-based performances. NEW THIS YEAR: Intermissions! an online networking and idea exchange hosted by special guests. Spend an hour of informal conversation, exploring ideas around puppetry and “celebration events” – everything from birthday parties to end of life celebrations… from social rituals to social justice. More than just entertainment and information sharing… our Festival of Ideas is about making authentic connections, having meaningful conversations on important topics, and motivating a call to action to use the power of puppetry to impact positive social change. Join the National Music Centre's free after-school Jam Club program! Youth ages 13-19 are invited to jam, practice their skills, and explore their creative potential, all while making new friends, every Thursday at Studio Bell. The best part? The program is free! Choose from the National Music Centre's extensive fleet of instruments, ranging from keyboards, acoustic and electric guitars with amplifiers, ukuleles and drum kits! Each week, participants will be supported by a team of skilled musicians, multi-instrumentalists, and experienced educators. As a drop-in program, students can drop in at any time between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm and there is no obligation to attend week to week. Snacks, drinks, and pizza are provided.

Takes place November 19 to January 2 (excluding November 23, 28 & 30 and December 3, 25 & 31). ZOOLIGHTS, presented by Olympia Trust Company, is back for its 25th year! This year's ZOOLIGHTS will feature exciting new themed areas and activities including a 25th anniversary Memory Lane, the Nutcracker in the ENMAX Conservatory, and an all-new “Tunnel of Light,” a tribute to Canada’s wetland, a holiday Zoo Market, and a very special “Dinos at Night” experience like you have never seen before! Of course, the Zoo is bringing back all the classic activities everyone has come to love like the Skating Rink, Fire pits, and Rival Axe Throwing. ZOOLIGHTS comes to life at night with twinkling lights at every turn, including over 200 light figurines, along with interactive and choreographed light displays. The lights are turned on at 5pm nightly and run until 9pm. It takes approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours to experience all that ZOOLIGHTS has to offer - but you are able to stay for as little or as long as you like!

The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady Antebellum, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt.
