Stories from The Confluence Daily Walking Tour.

Take a 60-minute guided walking tour around the vibrant lands at The Confluence and learn some of the many histories of this significant place, including the history of the NWMP and their contribution to the birth of the city of Calgary, the railway, and the ways that many people have used this site since time immemorial. The walk is approximately 1.5 km and covers various terrains.
Walks take place rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather. Recommended for ages 10 and up. Access to the cultural centre requires additional admission.

Do you like to spend time outside in the city? Do you wish you knew more about the environment around you while visiting the river valley and urban parks? Spend an hour with us outside learning about plants, animals, trees, and more at The Confluence parkland as we discover what grows here, which animals can be found, and how they come together to create our environment.
We’ll provide guidebooks, binoculars, and magnifying glasses to help you explore, and participants are encouraged to bring their own notebooks if they are interested in logging information. After this program, a walk through the park will never be the same!
Indigenous Days at Banff Sunshine Village.

Join to learn about Tsuut’ina culture through Tipi demonstrations, traditional dances, arts and crafts workshops, and storytelling sessions. Brown Bear Events will be on hand throughout the village to share the rich history and traditions of the land.
Beekeeping for Beginners.

Get your garden buzzing by learning about the basics of bees! Get decked out in some beekeeping gear and join ABC Bees owner and operator Eliese Watson for a hive tour of the bees here in The Confluence Garden. This two-hour workshop will cover all of the different aspects of setting up bee hives and how to care for them in an inner city location. Whether you’re a beginner wanting to explore beekeeping or looking to just spend more time with bees, meet us outside for an educational day with the bees!
