This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Fire Up the Fight is a family-friendly fundraising event being planned by the Canadian Cancer Society and the Calgary Firefighter's Burn Treatment Society. You can sign up to cut your hair or shave your head in support of people affected by cancer or burns. If you don't want to shave your head, you can still bring your family out to the event. There will be a Kid's Family Fun Zone, Antique Fire Trucks, Food trucks, Live Entertainment, and More!
