Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Artisan Market: Discover the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity at our artisan market on June 7th and 8th. Enjoy music, dance, and locally crafted goods. Hey kids! You can get your photo taken with the Easter Bunny! Times: Saturdays, April 8 & 15: 11am to 6pm. Sundays, April 9 & 16: 11am to 4pm. Monday to Thursday, April 10 to 13: 6 to 8pm. Friday, April 14: 2 to 6:30pm. Store holiday hours: 10am to 7pm. You will receive a Free 4x6 print of your photo. (Children may not sit on the Easter Bunny’s lap for photos.) Head to Kensington for an afternoon full of Easter activities! Pick up your Easter map at the Kensington hub tent in front of the Plaza Theatre and spend the day exploring the neighbourhood in search of Easter treats at participating Kensington businesses. There will also be a petting zoo and pictures with the Easter Bunny from 1 to 3pm.
