Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! April 21 to May 6; check website for show times. StoryBook Theatre Presents, Hana’s Suitcase. Based on a true story. A child’s suitcase arrives from Auschwitz at the tiny Holocaust Education Centre in Tokyo. Painted on the side are the name, “Hana Brady, 1931,” and the word, “Orphan.” The children at the Centre and their teacher embark on a relentless search to uncover the story of Hana and her fate. Sign up for Hike for Hospice Calgary today, a Family-Friendly Walk through Fish Creek Provincial Park! The Hike takes place on Sunday, May 7 from 9am to Noon. 55th Calgary Youth Science Fair (CYSF) – the largest youth science fair in Canada! Nearly 1,000 of Calgary’s aspiring scientists, leaders, and future thinkers from Grades 5 to 12 will showcase their latest innovations and STEM discoveries (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Nath) to 550 CYSF Judges at the 55th Calgary Youth Science Fair to compete for over 100 prizes and awards. 12 students with top science fair projects will also be given the opportunity to represent Calgary at the 2017 Canada-Wide Science Fair being held May 14 to 20 in Regina. Law Day is a family-friendly, interactive event that allows people to learn more about our justice system.
