Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. The 2017 CBC Calgary Reads Big Book Sale will be held at the Calgary Curling Club May 12 to 14. The CBC Calgary Reads Big Book Sale is held each year in May. Last year, through the generosity of Calgarians and amazing volunteers, Calgary Reads received, sorted, and sold over 100,000 gently-used books and raised over $300,000 in Calgary.

On May 13, Willow Park Village will officially unveil its first art installation in conjunction with Mother’s Day. Join in the Village to partake in a Maker YYC workshop, view live art installations, and enjoy various events and promotions happening throughout the Village. Natasha Ritchie, a local Calgary artist, will also be on-site live painting during the event.
