Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Artisan Market: Discover the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity at our artisan market on June 7th and 8th. Enjoy music, dance, and locally crafted goods. Educational Information Walls: Learn and engage with displays that provide deeper insights into Indigenous culture.

Storyteller/Musician Samantha Whelan Kotkas and her friends will entertain you and your children with musical interactive tales of child-accessible hikes in the Rocky Mountains. Teach your child about courage, unity, joyfulness, and caring in an afternoon of fun and adventure. An event for the whole family that you will want to be a part of. July 29 & 30. Pet-A-Palooza™. With events including Running of The Bulls, Wiener dog races, a puppy stampede, and more, this is an event you don’t want to miss. Pet-friendly (of course!).

This is a free, family-friendly event that is presented as a platform to share Arabian traditions such as folk dance, traditional music, food, customs, arts, and much more!

Wings Over Springbank Airshow is a Not for Profit, 2-day outdoor event featuring the RCAF Snowbirds and the CF18 Demo Team as well as several other Aerobatic Performers. The proceeds from the event are returned back into the community. On the grounds, try foods from a variety of Food Trucks, let the kids have some fun on numerous Bouncers while you take in the Car Show. Have you ever wondered what a private jet looks like or would you rather enjoy the dozens of other Vintage and Private aircraft on static display? Parking is available on the grounds, first come first serve for a small fee. Park N Ride is free. Park N Ride will be picked up from the Crowfoot LRT Station. Parking in the South Parking Lot is free and is first come, first serve. Parking is also available at the Centennial Parking Lot on 9th Avenue. LRT from downtown to Crowfoot is at the rider’s cost. Join for the 2nd Annual Spend a Day in Kensington's Diagon Alley. This year will be bigger, better, and more magical! The Kensington community will be transformed into a wizarding world full of brilliant oddities. There will be a Quidditch match at the Sunnyside Hillhurst Community Association Park. Enjoy watching the match and browsing the team's merchandise. Participate in the costume contest, drink butter beer on the patio, rock out near the music stage, and more! Be prepared for a handful of prizes this year!

July 29 to 31. Canadian Heroes Weekend at Calaway Park. Canadian Forces/Veterans as well as Canadian First Responders (EMS, Fire, Police) will receive free admission. Immediate family members (spouse and children) will receive a special admission rate of $23 plus GST per person. Identification required. StoryBook Theatre will join the festivities in Kensington's Diagon Alley this Sunday with their presentation of the Live Reading of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Screenplay at the Plaza Theatre! Join a cast of 35 as they read directly from the movie script and bring the characters to life right before your eyes. This event is good for all ages and will be a fun way to celebrate the day and get in from the heat. This fundraising show will raise funds for the Lumos Foundation and the Ellie Tims Project supporting programming for children. Tickets are on sale now for $10. They can be picked up from SoryBook's box office in Calgary's Northwest or starting at 12:30pm on Sunday in front of the Plaza Theatre in Kensington. StoryBook looks forward to sharing in some of the magic this day will hold!
