Alberta Kennel Club Winter Classic at Spruce Meadows.

Takes place January 25 to 27. The AKC Winter Classic will take place over three days. There will be 3 All Breed Championship Shows, 3 Rally Obedience Trails, and 3 Obedience Trails! Other events include Conformation Sanction Match hosted by the Alberta Dachshund Club, Obedience Fun Match hosted by Wild Rose Springer Spaniel Association of Alberta, Junior Showmanship Competition, and Scent Hurdle Racing (after Best In Show). Admission is free for kids 12 and under. Tickets available to purchase at the front door - cash only, please.

Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Artisan Market: Discover the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity at our artisan market on June 7th and 8th. Enjoy music, dance, and locally crafted goods. Educational Information Walls: Learn and engage with displays that provide deeper insights into Indigenous culture.

Alberta-born Bruce McCulloch is a 3-time Emmy Nominee for his work on the infamous Canadian classic sketch comedy show, The Kids in the Hall. As a director, he has helmed episodes of series including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Schitt’s Creek, and Trailer Park Boys and wrote and starred in Young Drunk Punk, a biographical series that celebrated his own observations growing up in Calgary in the 1980s. As a stand-up comedian, his show is equally as obtuse, irreverent, and funny. Come laugh along with him and special guest Cathy Jones from This Hour Has 22 Minutes.
