Skate To Great National Skate Drive Returns to Calgary in advance of the Stars on Ice show. The spring skate drive launches on May 11 at Scotiabank Saddledome, offering an opportunity to kick-start your spring cleaning and donate gently used skates to local kids who need them! Bring your items to the Scotiabank Saddledome on May 11 anytime after 6:30pm. Skate To Great organizers and FedEx Express Canada will be collecting used kids hockey and figure skates, helmets and hockey sticks. To kick off the drive, organizers will be collecting items at Scotiabank Saddledome, where Stars on Ice will be performing. After the kick-off date on May 11, bring your items for donation to one of Skate To Great’s collection locations until May 31. A Mother’s Day treat, the final concert of the Kensington Sinfonia’s 2019 season will present Reverie - music of dreams and fantasy. This concert honors the creative expressions of female composers with pieces by Wu Man, Angela Morley, and Canadians Norma Beecroft and Sophie-Carmen Eckhardt-Gramatté. The concert will also feature the young winner of this year’s Kensington Sinfonia Concerto Competition: 14-year-old Isabelle Robinson and 13-year-old Anna Stube. They will be performing selections from Vivaldi's iconic “Four Seasons.” Bring your children to an afternoon of beautiful chamber music. Free admission for children 12 and under!
