This year marks the 10th Anniversary of Calgary’s Sweetest Festival! Every February, participating cafés, restaurants, and chocolatiers compete for the coveted titles of YYC’s Best Hot Chocolate, Best Spirited Hot Chocolate, and special Cup That Runneth Over Award. Calgarians can sip a variety of hot cocoas and determine the blend that roasts them all! $1 (non-spirited) to $2 (spirited) from every cup sold supports Calgary Meals on Wheels, thereby directly providing nutritious meals to Calgarians. The Bridgeland Arctic Adventure is a 7.5K Outdoor Adventure Circuit in Calgary and features 13 stops in the Bridgeland community, including human curling, an icefield traverse, a snow beach, and more! There are also prizes to be won by completing scavenger hunts and posting at least 3 pictures or videos at different locations on social media with the proper tags. The perfect activity to spend time outdoors with family! WinSport's Tube Park is one of the fastest of its kind in Western Canada. The Tube Park features eight lanes of fun and a magic carpet brings you and your tube to the top. Washrooms are available on-site. The Tube Park is open on weekends and holidays (weather permitting). Lougheed House presents the Snowbird Festival as part of Chinook Blast! Join in the Beaulieu Gardens (museum temporarily closed) and explore the Winter Garden ice sculptures and the Play, Place & Pretence pop-up art installation. 2021 marks the 9th year of the Calgary Zoo Penguin Walk! The king penguin colony heads out on zoo grounds for a daily enrichment walk in the winter months to keep their brains and bodies healthy and visitors get to experience the fun! This incredible program allows visitors to get an up-close look at the group of king penguins as they explore, exercise, and waddle their way through the zoo. This is a free-choice activity for the penguins and is subject to weather conditions* and animal inclination.

Takes place on weekends: February 13 to 14, 19 to 21 & 26 to 28. Experience Chinook Blast, powered by Shaw, with the Chinook Blast Hub! An outdoor art park featuring installations by local artists and vendors. Bundle up, show up, and have a blast by enjoying incredible light displays and live-streamed music that will bring wintry magic to downtown Calgary. In addition to The Hub, a number of other partner sites will light up Calgary’s core, such as Chinatown, Kensington, East Village, Victoria Park, and more.
