Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo - Penguin Walk.

The Calgary Zoo is starting the year off with waddle! The 2022 Penguin Walk, presented by RE/MAX, marks the 10th year of the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo's penguin walk. During the winter months, the king penguin colony heads out on zoo grounds for a daily enrichment walk to keep their brains and bodies healthy and visitors get to experience the fun! This incredible program allows you to get an up-close look at the group of king penguins as they explore, exercise, and waddle their way through the zoo. This is a free-choice activity for the penguins and is subject to weather conditions and animal inclination.

International Women's Day at Southcentre Mall.

In honour of International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 8th, Southcentre Mall will be launching a month-long campaign in partnership with Women in Need Society (WINS). Join in to learn about how you can support women in the community and take a stand for equality! Visit the WINS kiosk near Sporting Life on the mall's lower level to receive a potted plant in exchange for a minimum $5 donation to WINS, symbolic of how the support WINS provides for women ultimately allows them to grow and thrive. The WINS kiosk will be open on Women's Day (March 8th) and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during mall hours until the end of March. Plants will also be available in exchange for a WINS donation daily at Twisted Goods, a female-owned business in the mall, during mall hours from March 8th to 30th. From March 8th to 30th, a Women’s Day-inspired art installation featuring three unique backdrops will also be located on the mall's lower level near Sporting Life and will invite guests to participate in the 2022 Global International Women’s Day theme, #BreakTheBias, through three simple steps: - Take a picture in front of the backdrops - Post it to Instagram tagging @southcentremall and #BreaktheBias - Help us spread the word by challenging a friend to #BreaktheBias Learn more at https://southcentremall.com/event/international-womens-day-2022/.

Guided Fish Hatchery Tour.

Join a 30-minute guided tour of the Fish Hatchery to learn about how trout are raised from egg to adults, and the role that recreational stocking plays in Alberta. This program includes an opportunity to feed thousands of fish in the burrows ponds. Due to the working environment of the Fish Hatchery and the feed used within the facilities, those with severe fish allergies are not recommended to enter the hatchery. Suitable for ages 4 and older. Dates: March 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17 Time: 2:30pm-3:00pm
