Caribbean celebration of music, culture, traditions and costumes.

Every August during Alberta Local Food Week, Alberta on the Plate hosts a ten-day, province-wide dine around festival. For those ten days, participating restaurants offer multi-course, fixed-price menus highlighting local producers, growers, distillers and brewers. Show your support of Alberta food by dining in or ordering out at our participating restaurants both during the festival and throughout the rest of the year.

Lucent will be hosted at Camp Adventure in Kananaskis. You can expect a weekend of incredible connection, yoga and movement classes of all kinds and for every ability. As well as holistic workshops, arts and crafts, free play, a creatively curated marketplace, live music, relaxation, meditation, bonfires, nature hikes and dancing.

A festival where artists create temporary site-specific installations in downtown Okotoks. This art festival sees artists repurpose and animate forgotten places with ‘forgotten’ materials, bringing public art to forgotten corners of downtown Okotoks. Individual artists and teams use recycled products to create installations that raise environmental awareness, animate spaces, and entertain audiences.

Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! Experience sunflowers at the Farmyard- formerly known as the Calgary Corn Maze and Fun Farm. Experience beautiful blooms, 35 attractions and the biggest corn maze in Southern Alberta- all in one day.

BUMP self-guided mural tours are a perfect way to explore the murals and experience new works of art as they are being created right before your eyes. New tours will be released throughout the month of August. The Beltline Urban Mural Project (BUMP) is a program that funds and installs art on buildings in the Beltline.

The Calgary Franco Festival promotes and shares the cultural richness of Calgary’s large Francophone community in all its diversity with the general public. Heart Home Network is thrilled to introduce our first-ever Picnic in the Park! HHN will be hosting a variety of family-friendly activities and will be providing a picnic-themed lunch to celebrate summer. Best part yet, all funds raised will go directly towards HHN’s children’s programming. “Omatsuri” is the Japanese term for a “traditional festival.” Visitors to the festival will be treated to authentic Japanese customs, presentations of traditional music, dance and song, martial arts demonstrations, and more.

Of course, the Zoo is bringing back all the classic activities everyone has come to love like the Skating Rink, Fire pits, and Rival Axe Throwing. ZOOLIGHTS comes to life at night with twinkling lights at every turn, including over 200 light figurines, along with interactive and choreographed light displays. The lights are turned on at 5pm nightly and run until 9pm. It takes approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours to experience all that ZOOLIGHTS has to offer - but you are able to stay for as little or as long as you like!
