Calgary Pride presents the return to in-person programming for the 2022 pride season. The Calgary Pride Parade and Festival is an annual event where thousands gather to celebrate the diversity of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. A variety of events will run throughout August, concluding with the Calgary Pride Parade & Festival on September 4 at Prince’s Island Park.

The 55th annual Cochrane Lions Labor Day Rodeo will be hosted through the September long weekend. Still considered one of the toughest Amateur Rodeo’s in Canada and FCA sanctioned, we follow closely in the footsteps to the infamous Calgary Stampede. In fact, you can expect to see many of the same riders and stock showcased there, but in a much more intimate setting.

The 31st-anniversary festival will feature live Celtic music, pipes and drums, dance demonstrations, heavy sports, sheep dogs, tug of war, food, drink vendors, a Celtic market, Scotch tasting and much more at Centennial Park.

Heritage Park’s extraordinary rail collection takes centre stage for two days with hands-on activities, and exciting exhibits. Catch a rare glimpse of the turntable in action, enjoy special demonstrations of a double-headed steam engine and spend some time with the Park’s very own Telegraphy club.

Beginning May 1, the Bow Habitat Station’s Kids Can Catch Trout Pond is open for the season. This pond is stocked with rainbow trout raised in the fish hatchery for you to catch and release. Visit bowhabitat.alberta.ca for more information.

Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. This guided walking tour around the lands at Fort Calgary will delve into masculinity and the mounted police, crime and queer experiences, and how colonialism shaped ideas about gender and sexuality that are still relevant today.
