Calgary Zoo - ZOOLIGHTS.
Every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Nov 19, 2021 - Nov 22, 2022 at 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Takes place November 19 to January 2 (excluding November 23, 28 & 30 and December 3, 25 & 31). ZOOLIGHTS, presented by Olympia Trust Company, is back for its 25th year! This year's ZOOLIGHTS will feature exciting new themed areas and activities including a 25th anniversary Memory Lane, the Nutcracker in the ENMAX Conservatory, and an all-new “Tunnel of Light,” a tribute to Canada’s wetland, a holiday Zoo Market, and a very special “Dinos at Night” experience like you have never seen before! Of course, the Zoo is bringing back all the classic activities everyone has come to love like the Skating Rink, Fire pits, and Rival Axe Throwing. ZOOLIGHTS comes to life at night with twinkling lights at every turn, including over 200 light figurines, along with interactive and choreographed light displays. The lights are turned on at 5pm nightly and run until 9pm. It takes approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours to experience all that ZOOLIGHTS has to offer - but you are able to stay for as little or as long as you like!

Campfire Guitar Bootcamp 101 for Youth.

This is a 1 hour, 10 week class held Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm, beginning September 22, 2022 Youth Campfire Bootcamp 101 for 9-13 year olds is a spinoff of the popular Campfire Bootcamp 101 for adults. Whether just beginning or experienced, students are given the opportunity to play and sing fun, varied songs appropriate to their age group. The songs are written out in an easy to understand format with basic instruction on how to approach accompaniment and soloing. Variations are included on how to expand those techniques to ensure all students reach their potential. Class size is kept small so students receive personalized instruction and the setlist is chosen primarily by the students. Topics explored include: Open Position Chords Bass Lines Singing while Playing Simple Melodies Basic Lead Technique Percussive Accompaniment No experience is necessary, however basic guitar technique is helpful. Enrollees are required to have their own instrument and a capo.
