Legacy will light up the south end of the city with more than a million Christmas lights in a cheery display throughout the community as one of Calgary’s largest free light displays.

Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Celebrate New Year’s Eve with the Calgary Public Library for a free, family-friendly celebration all day at Central, Crowfoot, Saddletowne, Shawnessy, and Signal Hill libraries. The Calgary Zoo is full of twinkling lights and the classic holiday activities you’ve come to love! This year’s ZOOLIGHTS will feature activities such as ice skating, fire pits, and much more!

This is a 1 hour, 10 week class held Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm, beginning September 22, 2022 Youth Campfire Bootcamp 101 for 9-13 year olds is a spinoff of the popular Campfire Bootcamp 101 for adults. Whether just beginning or experienced, students are given the opportunity to play and sing fun, varied songs appropriate to their age group. The songs are written out in an easy to understand format with basic instruction on how to approach accompaniment and soloing. Variations are included on how to expand those techniques to ensure all students reach their potential. Class size is kept small so students receive personalized instruction and the setlist is chosen primarily by the students. Topics explored include: Open Position Chords Bass Lines Singing while Playing Simple Melodies Basic Lead Technique Percussive Accompaniment No experience is necessary, however basic guitar technique is helpful. Enrollees are required to have their own instrument and a capo.

This year’s display will feature Merry Christmas greetings in 15 languages together with the Candy Canes and Shooting Stars along 14 Street!

Located in Airdrie’s Nose Creek Park, the Airdrie Festival of Lights is a beautiful, outdoor walk-through lights experience, with about a million dollars’ worth of displays and other special features.
