15 restaurants across Calgary are participating in a food festival that sees eateries craft creative and adventurous poutines for the public to try.

This is a fast paced, fun, interactive play filled with humour and adventure! Performed for three weekends only, at two locations in Calgary. Bring your favorite pillow and enjoy our interactive children’s theatre production.

Chinook Blast will be heating up our city with a celebration of community, culture, and civic pride. The best of Calgary’s art, music, theatre, sport and recreation will be on display. From iconic festivals to live music to sporting events to light and art installations to cultural experiences to night markets, there is going to be something for everyone. Exposure is an annual festival that celebrates photography, hosting thoughtfully curated exhibitions that showcase internationally renowned practitioners alongside emerging and established talent from Alberta at various venues around the city.

The Chinook Blast 2023 Asian Market will have a colorful and bright display with Asian features, lantern posts and LED lighting around the City Hall Atrium. Asian exhibitors will be invited to feature their traditional and cultural wear, products, and activities. There will be an exhibitor zone (products and packed food, outfits, etc.), a games zone, and an Asian Arts Zone for our attendees to enjoy and support.

Gasoline Alley Museum welcomes a new exhibit from January 14 to April 30; We Were Here: Stories from Early Chinatown. Bring your family and come learn about Chinese history on the prairies through art and imagination, discover fictional stories written by members of the Chinese community and explore two iterations of Chinatown in Calgary.

Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Artisan Market: Discover the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity at our artisan market on June 7th and 8th. Enjoy music, dance, and locally crafted goods. Educational Information Walls: Learn and engage with displays that provide deeper insights into Indigenous culture.

The 2023 Penguin Walk marks the 11th year of the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo’s penguin walk. During the winter months, the king penguin colony heads out on zoo grounds for a daily enrichment walk to keep their brains and bodies healthy and visitors get to experience the fun.

It is time to lace up some skates and learn about the technology, anatomy and physics that goes into this Canadian classic. Historical artifacts, including gear used by some of the greatest players of all time, are presented in innovative displays.

Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies!
