The show takes place in the Tower of London where Colonel Fairfax is wrongly accused of sorcery and sentenced to death within the hour. Fairfax hatches a plan to secretly marry a strolling singer, who now expects to be a wealthy widow upon Fairfax’s imminent demise, leaving her free to marry her lover, the jester Jack Point. However, Fairfax miraculously escapes his fate and chaos ensues.

A play created by artists with disabilities, inspired by stories of children with disabilities. Charlotte Bubble feels like the world just doesn’t make any sense to her, “I feel like something is wrong, like the world and me just don’t fit.”? Wishing she could imagine a whole new world made just for her, she visits the Make Believers Maker Space where she discovers stories of hope, gems of hilarity, battles with equality, and triumphs of the human spirit. Will Charlotte’s imagination be the key to holding space for herself, articulating what she needs, and inviting others into?her?world?

Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! Calgary Rock & Lapidary Club will present the 61st Annual Rock & Mineral Show at Vivo for Healthier Generations on May 5 – 7, 2023, featuring over 50 vendors from around the world, live demonstrations, activities, silent auction and more. Since 1959, the CRLC has been dedicated to creating a community for those who love earth sciences & the arts. The 61st Calgary Rock & Mineral Show is a major fundraiser for the Calgary Rock & Lapidary Club. Operated by volunteers, the show hosts over 50 dealers from across the globe that showcase rare rocks, gems, minerals, fossils, crystals, jewellery & beads. Volunteers also perform live demonstrations as they show off their craft and attendees learn and become inspired. There will be entertainment and activities for whole family with a gem hunt for the kids and a silent auction. For over 60 years this event has been entertaining and educating the Calgary community as Calgary’s only not-for-profit Rock & Mineral show. Elgar's Cello Concerto.

Experience the passionate intensity of Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto, as interpreted by award-winning Canadian cellist Stéphane Tétreault. Composed in the aftermath of WWI, it is a wistful but compassionate reflection on human suffering. Conductor Ramón Tebar then leads the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in Sergei Rachmaninoff’s final orchestral masterpiece, the Symphonic Dances. Combining big melodies, harmonic lushness, and rhythmic drive, it’s a sonic feast for the ears!
