Bizarrely beautiful and whimsically witty, NEVERMORE uses haunting song, poetic storytelling, and surreal imagery to explore the events that shaped Poe’s career and ignited his lifelong battle with “visions dark and sinister” at The Playhouse.

Based on the seminal 1980 hit movie, set in the late 70s this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic.

Mount Pleasant Potters’ Guild (MPPG) is a group of talented local artists with a passion for mucking about in clay. Delicate, fine, brutal, whimsical and everything in between describes the range of wares you’ll find at this awesome pottery sale. Potters can be hard to find in Calgary but you can find them at Triwood Community Hall.

A fun filled story of magic! A young boy decides he needs to find a job to help his poor mother. He meets a few people along the way and finally comes to a rather strange looking castle inhabited by a sorcerer, his mischievous talking cat, and a dove. The sorcerer hires him to clean up the castle…and change the kitty litter. Alex's dream has always been to become a magician himself, so with the help of his new friends his dreams come true and he helps save the kingdom too. Mark your calendars for Canada's Largest Student Business Fair, June 4, 12:00- 4:00 PM! Over 150 student businesses from Kindergarten to Grade 12 will be selling a wide variety of products, including original arts and crafts, baked goods, distinctive clothing, games, jewellery and much more. The Young Entrepreneurs Annual Business Fair is hosted by North Point Schools and is free and open to the public.

A symbol of tradition, honor, and pride, the Musical Ride is a Canadian icon recognized at home and abroad. The troop of up to 32 riders, who are all police officers, and their horses perform intricate formations and drills set to music, lasting about 30 minutes at Fort Calgary.

Back by popular demand, WP Puppet Theatre is partnering again with Highland Park Community Association for a Family Puppet Festival Day. Join WP Puppet Theatre, their puppets and many special partner organizations for a water themed which will feature: • "Walter the Water Droplet", a micro puppet show • Puppet making stations • Interactive information stations and displays on water stewardship • Other special guests Three show times will be offered throughout the afternoon, with plenty of puppet fun to be had before or after a performance. Engage with our conservationists and water stewards, learn about the community association’s rain garden, make a puppet to take home, and don’t forget to peruse the puppet yard sale in the main hall where you’ll find puppetry kits and other treasures to take home. The Family Puppet Festival Day is also part of this year’s Empathy Week, a seven-day festival of events which promote empathy, human connection, and the recognition of our shared humanity.
