The ‘North American’ is a celebration of the close ties between the horse and the military. The pounding hooves of the competitors are amplified by the marching cadence of the military celebrations. The event will include the Lord Strathcona's Horse Musical Ride, live entertainment, Canadian Military displays, shopping and more.

Each year the parade showcases more than 150 western-themed entries, including 30 marching bands, 40 floats, 750 horses and 4,000 people. The event will be led by 2023 Calgary Stampede Parade Marshal and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen.
