The Badlands Festival is a series of electronic and hip-hop shows that takes place downtown during the famous Calgary Stampede.

Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! Newzones Gallery announces the return of “G’ddy Up!”, an annual rotating group exhibition that coincides with the Calgary Stampede. “G’ddy Up!” will survey how Newzones’ artists explore contemporary cowboy culture, and how they implement aspects of this culture in formal practices through painting, photography, mixed media, and sculpture.

The 1st annual Road Hockey Rodeo, led in partnership by the Friends of HMCS Calgary Committee and HMCS Calgary, and supported by the Flames Foundation, will create an inclusive, healthy, and fun youth activity with navy sailors during Stampede that strengthens the relationship between the ship and the community, and generates donations which benefit local Calgary charities and Calgarians.

Join us for some fun garden activities for the little ones during Stampede Week! Kids will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity by selecting their preferred colors, stickers, and ribbons. We’ll provide all the necessary supplies for them to create their own unique masterpiece. To add a finishing touch, they can plant a beautiful flower and take it home to watch it grow. Milky Way Nights are an opportunity for the public to observe the dark night sky alongside University of Calgary researchers at Rothney Astrophysical Observatory (RAO). See astronomers in their natural habitat, under dark moonless skies. The dark sky conditions are perfect for viewing planetary nebula, globular clusters and distant galaxies. Each evening will include a sky tour outside on the viewing terrace, pointing out some of the highlights of the summer sky.
