Get ready to let the good times roll, Calgary! Block Party is back for its fourth installment, bringing good vibes, fun games, and eye-catching art to The Boulevard at Deerfoot City. Proceeds from skate rentals go to Kids Up Front, an organization dedicated to ensuring that all kids have access to fun, enriching experiences.

Newzones Gallery announces the return of “G’ddy Up!”, an annual rotating group exhibition that coincides with the Calgary Stampede. “G’ddy Up!” will survey how Newzones’ artists explore contemporary cowboy culture, and how they implement aspects of this culture in formal practices through painting, photography, mixed media, and sculpture.

Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! In partnership with ART SPOT, this monumental group exhibition of artistic talent will contribute to the positive change of this historic site. From the unique lens of a local artist, the narrative of Fort Calgary will be broadened into a world of inclusivity through creativity. The exhibition features more than 150 artists of varying levels of experience — from youth, to emerging, to professional. The free and family-friendly show and sale will include refreshments and music, and many of the artists themselves will be in attendance! The opening event will run from noon to 6 pm, but the exhibition will be on display until Nov. 9, 2023 at Fort Calgary. Registration for the opening exhibition opening is not required, but we’d love to know your coming and send you a reminder to join us!
