Earth Hour 2024.

Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! Canstruction is coming to Eau Claire Tower this October for a Witches CAN Ghouls edition! Get ready for Halloween inspired creations in an event that brings together teams of engineers, designers, architects and builders to create extraordinary structures out of non-perishable food items. Using thousands of cans of food, five teams will compete to create structures that will be judged and on display until October 19. At the end of the exhibit, all food used will go to the Calgary Food Bank. This edition’s builders include Vesta Energy, McLennan Ross, Elan Construction, and EllisDon. All farm activities are open, and the farm is lit up in fantastic display (except the corn maze of course, which remains dark as an added challenge for visitors to find their way through with their flashlights.) Pumpkins are available for photos and purchase in the evening too.
