The annual guild sale is a great opportunity to shop for holiday, birthday and hostess gifts. There is a wide range of beautifully handcrafted items made by guild members that include woven tea towels, table runners, placemats, blankets, pillows, rugs, and garments; felted scarves and hats; tapestry hangings, and more. at Parkdale Nifty 50’s Senior’s Association.

At the Field of Crosses, in place from November 1 to 11 each year, you can honour those who have fallen for our country. Each of the 3,500-plus crosses erected on the north side of the Bow River – along Memorial Drive – is inscribed with the name, rank, regiment, and date of death of a Southern Alberta soldier killed in action.

Award-winning actor and director Frank Ferrante ignites his PBS, New York and London acclaimed portrayal of legendary comedian Groucho Marx in this fast paced 90 minutes of hilarity. The two-act comedy consists of the funniest Groucho one-liners, anecdotes and songs including “Hooray for Captain Spalding,” and “Lydia, the Tattooed Lady.” The audience literally becomes part of the show as Ferrante ad-libs his way throughout the performance in grand Groucho style at Stage West (727 42 Avenue SE).

Every meal tells a story, and this one is about family. In this tour-de-force solo show, Francesco, a young Italian immigrant and his father, Salvatore, recall their experiences in 1970s Jasper, Alberta.
