The annual guild sale is a great opportunity to shop for holiday, birthday and hostess gifts. There is a wide range of beautifully handcrafted items made by guild members that include woven tea towels, table runners, placemats, blankets, pillows, rugs, and garments; felted scarves and hats; tapestry hangings, and more. at Parkdale Nifty 50’s Senior’s Association.

The Leighton Art Centre is featuring fine crafts and artwork by local artists in the galleries of the historic Leighton home. This annual community-favorite sale comes at the perfect time for getting a head start on purchasing seasonal gifts and getting into the Christmas spirit with beautiful decorations, gorgeous art, and the home’s historic ambiance.

Imagine going to a vending machine and instead of buying a drink or a snack, being able to purchase much-needed nutritious food, warm clothing, baby supplies or medical aid for local charities, or chickens or a goat for a family in a developing country. This year, those in the Calgary region and across Alberta will have the chance to do just that. As part of the annual #LightTheWorld campaign, visitors to Southcentre Mall in Calgary can help children and families in need by donating at these unique, red vending machines called Giving Machines. With a simple card tap, individuals can choose from 30 items for seven charities to help those in need both locally and around the world.
