Montreal-based scratch DJ, music producer, and graphic novelist Kid Koala is coming to Bella Concert Hall this January. The Storyville Mosquito tells the tale of a jazz-playing mosquito who leaves his small town in the country to seek fame and fortune in the big city; the story is brought to life simultaneously on stage and screen, with miniature sets, live puppetry, cinematography, and live music by Kid Koala and a string trio.

Direct from Broadway, Mean Girls is the hilarious hit musical from book writer Tina Fey (30 Rock) of the story of a naïve newbie who falls prey to a trio of lionised frenemies. Recommended for ages 10 and older.

Once again this winter, you can see the king penguins outside of their habitat as they take a royal promenade through zoo grounds. The Penguin Walk offers the king penguins an opportunity for wintery enrichment as well as additional daily exercise. Don’t miss out on a waddling good time!

The FIS Ski Cross World Cup is an annual freestyle skiing competition bringing together the top ski-cross athletes in the world to compete on home soil at the Nakiska Ski Area in Kananaskis. Athletes compete head-to-head, striving for World Cup podium success and you can join them at the base of the Nakiska Ski Area.

Every January, Banff and Lake Louise comes alive with the annual SnowDays celebration. Lake Louise turns into a glittering display of ice sculptures during Ice Magic. The streets of downtown Banff transform into larger-than-life winter galleries with giant snow sculptures to be found throughout. Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies!
