LitCon Returns to Calgary Public Library.

The literary arts festival is for classrooms from kindergarten to Grade 9 and encourages creativity, social connections, and skill development. Schools in the Calgary area can register for virtual sessions to learn more about literary arts while individual students can get inspired during in-person programs at select Library locations.

Stories from The Confluence Daily Walking Tour.

Runs daily Wed-Sun at 2 pm starting May 29. Take a 60-minute guided walking tour around the vibrant lands at The Confluence and learn some of the many histories of this significant place, including the history of the NWMP and their contribution to the birth of the city of Calgary, the railway, and the ways that many people have used this site since time immemorial. The walk is approximately 1.5 km and covers various terrains. Walks take place rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather. Access to the cultural centre requires additional admission. Recommended for ages 10+.

Do you know what orienteering is? The sport involves moving through terrain while map reading to help you choose the best route. The object is to run, walk, ski or bike to a series of points shown on the map, choosing routes that will help you find all the required points and get back to the finish in the shortest amount of time. Want to try it out? Do so with Foothills Orienteering for free at Edworthy Park.
