Sled Island's thoughtful, eclectic programming and independent spirit have produced a one-of-a-kind festival experience. Each June, the five-day music and arts festival brings together a community of music, comedy, film and art as well as over 40,000 attendees across multiple venues, earning rave reviews from attendees, artists and media across the globe.

Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Artisan Market: Discover the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity at our artisan market on June 7th and 8th. Enjoy music, dance, and locally crafted goods. Educational Information Walls: Learn and engage with displays that provide deeper insights into Indigenous culture.

From ants to algorithms, Spark is buggin’ out with science this summer! TELUS Spark is buzzing with excitement as the science centre kicks off an epic summer of Bugs & Bytes! Guests are in for a summer full of exploring the secrets of both the digital and natural worlds while getting curious about science.

Life Cycle is a virtual cycling event in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. Taking place throughout the month of June families and cyclists will ride towards their personal fundraising and distance goals as they make a difference for kids across Alberta. Funds raised through Life Cycle will support the Child Life departments at both Alberta hospitals.

Join Lougheed House for the annual tipi raising. Guided by Blackfoot Elder Joyce Ussangahgee (Always Singing Woman) Healy, there will be stories shared and Indigenous games to take part in. Bring the whole family and drop in throughout the day to learn and participate.

Rock the Nation is a live tribute show of Canada’s best-known hits from the past 60 years. Produced by Annerin Productions, hear the soundtrack to generations every Saturday and Sunday at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, from May 11 to August 25.

Come down to Hotchkiss Gardens to witness a sneak peak of GlobalFest through the mini OneWorld Festival. From kitchen scraps to nutrient-rich soil, join Mike Dorion of Living Soil Solutions for two hours of hands-on learning in The Confluence Garden. Whether you’re a gardening enthusiast or are just starting out, this workshop will provide you with the knowledge and practical tips to reduce waste, promote sustainability, and get your soil ready to grow!

Runs daily Wed-Sun at 2 pm starting May 29. Take a 60-minute guided walking tour around the vibrant lands at The Confluence and learn some of the many histories of this significant place, including the history of the NWMP and their contribution to the birth of the city of Calgary, the railway, and the ways that many people have used this site since time immemorial. The walk is approximately 1.5 km and covers various terrains. Walks take place rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather. Access to the cultural centre requires additional admission. Recommended for ages 10+.
