SnowDays in Banff National Park.

January 18 to 28. Banff National Park invites visitors and locals to embrace the cold, vigour, and fun that winter brings! The annual SnowDays Festival is a highlight of the winter season in Banff and Lake Louise. This festival features a variety of events, shows, and activities that combine history, culture, and winter activities. By day, skate on the stunning frozen surface of Lake Louise, watch competitive ice carvers, or spend a day skiing or riding on the slopes of one of the nearby ski resorts. By night, join the festivities in town by watching live music, ski and snowboard competitions, or enjoying drinks by the fire! For full details, visit the website. There will be 10 to 11 snow sculptures in downtown Banff where teams from around the world will compete to create the best sculpture.

Whales|Tohor? is an interactive experience housing one of the world's largest whale collections from the National Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. This exhibition will immerse you into the biology diversity, evolution, and deep significance of whales to M?ori culture.

Indigenous History Month Celebration at Southcentre Mall.

Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Artisan Market: Discover the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity at our artisan market on June 7th and 8th. Enjoy music, dance, and locally crafted goods. Educational Information Walls: Learn and engage with displays that provide deeper insights into Indigenous culture.

Teach your child about courage, unity, joyfulness, and caring in an afternoon of fun and adventure. An event for the whole family that you will want to be a part of.
