Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! Join as Rogers Hometown Hockey makes its way to Canmore on February 10 and 11! The Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour is the ultimate NHL® fan experience. You can expect a great weekend of free hockey-related activities, NHL Alumni appearances, music, and fun for the whole family! The Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour is a season-long, touring hockey festival that visits a different Canadian Canadian Town each weekend over the NHL season. Join Ron MacLean and Tara Slone live on-site on Sunday, February 11 for the broadcast as they tell the stories that celebrate the hockey history and culture that put Canmore on Canada's hockey map, and stick around the catch the Calgary Flames take on the New York Islanders. Roam transit will be offering free local transit service' please consider leaving your car at home and taking the bus to the festival. Check TELUS Spark's website for hours of operation. One of the most exclusive exhibitions is making its final North American stop at Calgary's science centre on January 20 to June 20! Whales|Tohor? is an interactive experience housing one of the world's largest whale collections from the National Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. This exhibition will immerse you into the biology diversity, evolution, and deep significance of whales to M?ori culture.

On February 10, opening festivities include martial art demonstrations, performances, a market with 50 booths, and lion dances! Celebrations will also take place on February 11, 17, and 18 so you can still experience the holiday even if you missed the kick-off. Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. JazzYYC and Mount Royal University are excited to team up to present this once in a lifetime Illumin8 concert experience featuring music from the iconic alto-saxophonist Charlie Parker.
