Register Now for the SunRype TRi KiDS Triathlon on July 22! This triathlon offers safe, non-competitive, confidence-building races for children and youth ages 3 to 15. Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Artisan Market: Discover the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity at our artisan market on June 7th and 8th. Enjoy music, dance, and locally crafted goods. Educational Information Walls: Learn and engage with displays that provide deeper insights into Indigenous culture.

The Baby Animal Festival takes place June 2, 3, 8 & 19. Join Mad Science for a one hour free workshop using LEGO® Bricks. In the Brixology Carnivals Workshop, children learn about the Engineering Design Process and Mechanical Engineering. They build, test, modify, and re-test a carnival ride model made with LEGO® bricks. They discover how gears, pendulums, and cams are useful design tools for mechanical engineers, and they learn the importance of safe, stable design for carnival rides. This program engages the children in hands-on engineering, and principles of physics and design. Brought to you by The Calgary Public Library. Advance registration is required. Join at Optimist Park! Outdoors, there will be face-painting, a bouncy castle, an obstacle course, ‘come-as-you-are’ soccer. In the main hall, learn about all the programs the Optimists support. Inside the Optimist Arena is food, program displays, a silent auction, a robotics demonstration by Bishop Grandin High School, and in-line skating. In-line skating instruction will be provided for free. The equipment rental is free courtesy of Alien In-Line. Skates and mandatory helmets are available on a first come, first-serve basis or bring your own! Free all-beef hot-dogs are offered to the first 500 attendees. A silent auction will offer prizes like bicycles, Flames tickets, electronics, and other goodies!

Dog Jog is a celebration of family and friendship! Calgary Humane Society uses the funds raised at Dog Jog to find loving forever families for thousands of animals each year. This year, they will be celebrating families of all shapes and sizes by packing South Glenmore Park full of family-friendly (and Fido-friendly!) activities for people and pooches of all ages to enjoy. Grab a bite to eat from local food trucks or a refreshing beer from the folks at Village Brewery in the new all-age food + beverage garden called the Mutt & Mingle.
