Tickets are on sale now for the Award-Winning Harvest Pumpkin Hunts at Butterfield Acres! Off you will go on the tractor-pulled hay wagon, rolling through the crunchy Fall leaves just hoping to find some kid-sized pumpkins! Once you find the pumpkins, you'll bring them back and decorate them into creative pumpkin-head masterpieces! While the glue dries, enjoy a visit with your favorite animal friends in the farmyard! Your visit includes hunting time, pumpkin-decorating (no carving), and a farmyard visit with the animals! Each child takes home their very own pumpkin masterpiece. Plan for 110 minutes. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear something orange to celebrate the season! A child's (able to walk to 17 years) Harvest Pumpkin Hunt ticket includes farmyard admission and 1 pumpkin per child. The cost is $14.99 + GST. YYC Pizza Week is a friendly competition among 40+ pizza places in Calgary! Portions of the proceeds from each pizza sold are donated to Calgary Meals on Wheels. The competition runs from September 21 until September 30. Visit any of the 40+ participating restaurants and inquire about purchasing their feature pizza for YYC Pizza Week. Prices are set by the participating restaurant. Once you have tried the pizzas, vote via the website or download the YYC Pizza Week app on iPhone or Android!

Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Artisan Market: Discover the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity at our artisan market on June 7th and 8th. Enjoy music, dance, and locally crafted goods. Educational Information Walls: Learn and engage with displays that provide deeper insights into Indigenous culture.

There will be lots of baby gear for sale including toys, high chairs, and lots of blankets, shoes, and clothes for sale, too! There will also be plenty of children's wear and accessories for sale including games, boots, books, winter coats/boots, toys, etc. Admission to the sale is free.

Let loose with your little one at Itty Bitty Arts Day: a Teddy Bear Picnic, an open-house art-party for the very young. Babies, toddlers and young children explore an immersive forest environment complete with theatre, music, dance, and art activities, providing everything you need to play, learn, and explore together. Complete with picnic blanket seating, bring your favorite plushie or teddy bear, some nut-free snacks, a cute costume, and enjoy short performances, interactive workshops and lots of crafting and creative play.

For Bump, Baby & Beyond! Takes place September 29 & 30. Presented by Mayfair Diagnostics, the Calgary Baby & Tot show is a premier parenting event designed to put everything you need under one roof. Featuring local and national exhibitors showcasing the latest in apparel, services, products and toys to assist parents and caregivers every step of the way. Join industry experts in the seminar theatre, with educational presentations discussing everything from pregnancy to preschool! Interactive play areas, arts and crafts, and ongoing entertainment for the whole family! Takes place September 29, 9:30am to 5:30pm and September 30, 11am to 5pm. Tickets are valid for either Saturday or Sunday (single day) with re-entry only on that day.

The Alberta College of Art + Design's Lodgepole Center will be hosting a spectrum of Indigenous cultural programming, including traditional medicinal smudgings to open daily programming, followed by drum performances and drum-making demonstrations. Traditional food samplings and discussion will be offered around the lunch hour. Although drop-in attendance is welcome, visitors are encouraged to attend for the entirety of the daily programming to immerse themselves in the full experience.

Flashlight nights are an extremely popular activity as guests love getting lost in the dark. Alberta Printmakers would like to invite you to its 8th annual Print It Yourself Festival during Alberta Culture Days! No experience necessary and all are welcome. Come learn about printmaking through observing, participating, and celebrating Alberta's arts and culture! Take part in print demos and activities. Learn about linocut, silkscreen, letterpress, and child-friendly printmaking techniques from local print artists. Then, print it yourself and take your very own prints home!

Thoughts of Thanksgiving dinner are starting to tempt your tastebuds. To help you select the pie you will serve this year, visit the 6th Annual Thanksgiving Pie Bake-Off in support of the Calgary Food Bank! Here is how it works. 1. Visit the Calgary Farmers' Market on September 28 and 29 from 11am to 2pm. Make a cash donation to the Calgary Food Bank (recommended $5 per person). 3. Sample the 5 delicious pies. 4. Vote for your favorite pie. 5. Pat yourself on the back for helping all Calgarians have food on their plates this Thanksgiving. While pie supplies last. The Alberta College of Art + Design's School of Continuing Education will be running family-friendly, hands-on workshops, where participants can learn how to make either a button, an origami wish star, or a hemp bracelet. Workshops will be run by ACAD Student Ambassadors and will be on a drop-in basis. All ages are welcome!

Takes Place September 28, 29 & 30 from 11am to 6:30pm. Multicultural Fall Festival at the Chinese Cultural Centre - part of Alberta Culture Days. Do you want to learn about how different nations around the world celebrate their Autumnal Harvest Season? Packed into one exciting weekend, join in lantern-making contests, local art exhibitions, multicultural performances, learning about Chinese tea culture, and the giant panda bears. All activities are family-friendly and suitable for all ages and heritage backgrounds. Come join for an enlightening cultural learning opportunity and a lot of great fun!
