When the Elders of the Community choose him to be the Receiver of Memory, Jonas starts a journey to uncover the truth of this place he has always called home. The more he learns, the more he realizes the Community has systematically given up much of what gives life its meaning: color, music, truth, and love. At the end of the story, Jonas faces a decision that will define him and, ultimately, set a course toward hope. This show is recommended for ages 10 and up. Join us at Southcentre Mall from June 3rd to 23rd for our fourth annual Indigenous History Month celebration in partnership with Authentically Indigenous. This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Artisan Market: Discover the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity at our artisan market on June 7th and 8th. Enjoy music, dance, and locally crafted goods. The Calgary Baby & Tot Show is a demographic-specific consumer tradeshow designed to offer everything needed from pre-baby to toddlers to school-age children. Local and National businesses will showcase the latest products and services assisting parents and caregivers. This Spring, the show is thrilled to have a Meet and Greet with Chase from Paw Patrol on both days, plus many wonderful interactive performances throughout the weekend. There are Educational Seminars, Arts & Crafts, Face Painting, Parented Play Zones, and Non-Stop Entertainment for the whole family. Take place now through March 31. 2019 Marks the 7th Year of the Calgary Zoo Penguin Walk! This incredible program allows visitors to get an up-close look at the group of king penguins as they explore, exercise, and waddle their way through the zoo. This is a free-choice activity for the penguins and is subject to weather conditions. *Note: If the temperature warms up to +5ºC, drops to below -25ºC, or the wind exceeds 20km/h, it will be cancelled for the safety of the penguins. Please check the zoo's homepage and social media channels for any updates to the walk due to weather.

Join CARE Canada as they walk in solidarity with women and girls in the Developing World who often have to walk 10,000 steps (6 kms) every day to get water or food. This 5th annual family-friendly, empowering day takes place at the Calgary Zoo. Your $25 registration fee gets you and 3 guests entry into the Zoo for the day!
