Bring the family out to help the Easter Bunny, visit with all of the Spring farmyard babies, and kids will partake in a fun springtime craft! Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! Mad Science Brixology with Lego® Aerospace Workshop. Brought to you by The Calgary Public Library, presented by Mad Science. Launch your imagination to new heights as you explore aerospace engineering! Discover the secrets of working in space - efficiency and compact, modular design. Create a trussed space station module, then connect it with others to create a massive modular spacecraft. Finally, assemble, test, and take home your own Mad Science Astro Lander - it’s a space capsule with a parachute that you can launch! Suitable for ages 6 to 12. Spaces are limited. Local area restaurateurs, caterers, and food and liquor merchants will prepare and serve unique “tastes” at booths at the Bragg Creek Community Centre. Then, attendees will be given a map and have the chance to travel to many of the Bragg Creek restaurants, fine liquor purveyors, and local shops and retailers who will be participating by offering in-store promotions! This event is a fundraiser for the Bragg Creek Community Association and The Bragg Creek & Area Chamber of Commerce. Free admission and parking at Bragg Creek Community Centre.
