This month-long event will foster understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Experience educational activities, cultural displays, and storytelling sessions that connect both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. The celebrations will include: Full-Size Tipi: Step inside a tipi adorned with tapestries representing decades of Indigenous contributions to Calgary’s culture. Storytelling: Be moved by traditional stories from elders, delight in puppet shows by Indigenous authors, and explore virtual reality experiences by the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. Hike for Hospice Calgary is a 5-kilometre walk at Sikome Lake, Fish Creek Provincial Park. Each year, hundreds of people join for this fun family- and dog-friendly event, raising over $100,000 each Hike. The Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo (AKA: Calgary Expo) is a four-day pop-culture convention, April 25 to 28, at Stampede Park - and it’s one of the biggest events of its kind in the world! Come see this entertaining musical production that follows Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and a whole cast of fairy tale characters as a baker and his wife try to gather magical items from each of these classic stories.
