Beginning May 1, the Bow Habitat Station’s Kids Can Catch Trout Pond is open for the season. This pond is stocked with rainbow trout raised in the fish hatchery for you to catch and release. Visit bowhabitat.alberta.ca for more information.

Developed through a partnership between the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo and the Ministry of Alberta Environment and Parks’ and their Inglewood facility Bow Habitat Station, the festival will highlight the rich biodiversity in our province and what can be done for these diverse ecosystems. At the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, we invite you to join us on a ‘road trip’ through Alberta – learning about the flora and fauna that make our province home and what you can do to help them thrive. Look for interactive stations throughout the zoo where you can test your knowledge at our Biodiversitree game, dance like a Greater sage-grouse and learn about the micro-invertebrates from nearby rivers and streams.

The RAO will also present talks on cultural astronomy, Team Astro lunar eclipse videos and the RAO’s Indigenous Ways of Knowing Astronomy videos. Astronomers and Team Astro will be sharing their knowledge of the lunar eclipse phenomena and the wonders of the universe.
