Did you have a lemonade stand as a child? For many of us, that lemonade stand was our first business. When lemonade stands start popping up in your neighborhood, you know that Spring has officially arrived. A fun party theme for kids is a Pink Lemonade party filled with delicious treats! If the Spring weather cooperates with your party plans, this would be an excellent theme for a garden tea party. If the weather is still a bit too cool for outdoor parties, check your local listings for a greenhouse where you could host a children’s tea party.
Decorating ideas
For this theme, you’ll want plenty of bright and cheerful colors like pink and yellow. One of the easiest ways to add color to your party is with some poster board panels wrapped in wrapping paper. This is such an easy way to set a backdrop for your party, and you won’t need any tacks in the wall to display decorations. Simply wrap the panels, and then place them on the back of your party table leaning up against the wall.
With a pink lemonade theme, vases filled with lemons can be part of your party décor. Other ways to add bursts of color include:
Food and drink
A pink lemonade party wouldn’t be complete without lemonade! You can serve sliced lemons or candy lemon slices as garnishes for the drinks. Bright paper straws are another easy way to dress up your drinks.
You can turn a simple boxed cake mix into Pink Lemonade cupcakes by adding some pink food coloring to the cupcake mix and adding Pink Lemonade icing.
Here’s an easy recipe I use for this sweet and tart icing:
Pink Lemonade Icing
In a large bowl, mix powdered sugar and butter and beat with an electric mixer on low speed.
Stir in 6 tablespoons of lemonade concentrate. Gradually beat in remaining lemonade concentrate until you’ve reached the desired consistency.
Then use your icing piping bags and an icing decorating tip to decorate your cupcakes. You can top them with pink and yellow sprinkles or candy lemon slices. For a filled cake, you could add lemon pie filling between the two cake layers. It’s delicious!

Activities
If you’re hosting your party outside, there are plenty of easy outdoor activities you can set up for the kids like sidewalk chalk, bubbles, skipping ropes and hula hoops. After months of being inside due to cold weather, the kids will love having an opportunity to run around outside. If you live close to a playground, you can take a walk with the kids over to play there as well.
If you like to build, you could make your own little wooden lemonade stand for a cute picture area.
With the warmer weather approaching, party favors that encourage outdoor play are a great idea. For something completely different, you could give guests their own little DIY Lemonade Stand Kit with a plastic box for holding money, dry lemonade mix, a ‘Lemonade for Sale’ sign and some colorful paper cups.
I hope your next party is filled with love, laughter and lots of cake!
