School’s out for the summer and it’s time for some fun in the sun! Fortunately, you don’t even have to leave the city when you live in Calgary because we’re surrounded by great parks, playgrounds, and fun places to explore.
My “Summer Fun Bingo” grid is full of ideas to get your family exploring around Calgary. Print it off, stick it on your fridge, and use it as inspiration to visit new playgrounds, parks, popular attractions, and natural areas around the city.
Don’t feel pressure to check off everything in an actual “line.”
I encourage you to swap out suggestions that won’t work for your family. You can easily customize the grid with a bottle of white-out, or a printing label and a pen. Spend as little or as much as you want, since the goal isn’t to break the bank, and don’t feel like you have to drive across the entire city to visit a new park.
Like the idea, but want to create your own custom bingo grid? I create my own “family fun list” at the beginning of every month using a piece of colored construction paper and a marker. I simply draw a bingo grid on the paper with as many squares as I want, and then we fill it in as a family with fun things we want to do that month.
Your custom bingo grid could be biking themed, 100% playground-focused, or nature-centered with new parks you want to visit. You can also include destinations outside the city that you hope to visit on your summer vacation.
