There are dessert boards, candy boards, breakfast, and even vegan boards! So why not a taco board, probably the simplest of them all!

A taco board is a creative and interactive way to serve tacos, especially for a group or party setting. It’s a fun and visually appealing presentation that allows your guests to customize their own tacos to their liking.

Why you will love Taco Boards

They are versatile. A taco board can be customized to include a variety of proteins, toppings, and sauces to please everyone’s taste or dietary restrictions.

Shells, for example, can be either corn or flour to suit different needs.

They are easy to prepare. Preparing a taco board is as simple as arranging the ingredients on a large platter or board. This means less stress for parents and more time to enjoy the party.

They are perfect for a crowd. A taco board is a great option for feeding a large family or a lot of kids.

They are visually appealing. A beautifully arranged taco board is sure to be inviting to parents and kids alike.

They are perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re hosting a casual get-together, Christmas, or New Year’s party.

They are fun and interactive. A taco board will make everyone feel involved and engaged in the dining experience.

They are easy to clean up. Once your guests have finished their meal, simply dispose of any leftovers and wipe down the board, making for an easy and stress-free clean up.

Dessert Tacos

Fillings: Ice cream, pudding, custard, and cheesecake filling.

Toppings: Cut up fruit, chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and candies.

Extras: Chocolate or caramel sauce, jams, jellies, or compotes.

Tortillas: You can get creative and use crepes, pancakes, cinnamon-and-sugar-dusted flour tortillas, or even waffles that you bend as soon as they come out of the waffle iron.

Assembling Your Taco Board:

  1. Choose how to serve it. You can use a large wooden cutting board, a serving platter, or even a clean slate or piece of marble.
  2. Arrange the toppings. Place small bowls or containers on the board to hold the toppings. Arrange them in a visually appealing manner.
  3. Prepare the taco shells. If using hard taco shells, stand them up around the outside of the board to create a nice design. If using soft tortillas, warm them before serving.
  4. Create a focal point. Consider placing a bowl of guacamole or a vibrant salsa in the centre of the board to create a visual focal point.
  5. Add garnishes. Sprinkle fresh cilantro leaves and lime wedges around the board for a finishing touch.
  6. Make serving easy. Make sure to have utensils like tongs or serving spoons available for easy self-service.

A taco board not only provides a delicious meal but also adds an element of fun and creativity for parents or kids to create their own signature taco. You can even do two taco boards, a savory one for dinner and a sweet one for dessert. If you want to complete the trifecta of an interactive creative dinner, why not add a mocktail station so the kids can create their favorite fruit margaritas – minus the tequila, of course.

Heat up your winter with these versatile and delicious taco board ideas! A great idea for New Year’s Eve or anytime during the holiday season. Making memories, that’s what it’s all about!
