This is an 45 min, 16 week class held on Fridays at 11:00 | September to January 2022-23 All ages invited to share in a musical play class. The music environment focuses on singing and chanting, moving, listening and play instruments. exposure to traditional folk and classical music as well fun and entertaining modern music to keeps moving and developing rhythmically. The optimal time to prepare children musically is in early childhood. Happy fun and positive experiences will assist in development to try and experiment in a judgment free environment. Children thrive and develop with a family ready to continue the joy of musical play throughout their daily life.

Little Red Riding Hood with Beethoven.

Join Kensington Sinfonia, StoryMusic and Green Fools Theatre for a unique amalgam of storytelling, chamber music and puppetry! Little Red Riding Hood with Beethoven features a new version of the traditional fairy tale - with a surprise ending! This story was first available by video in January 2021 as a Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra Education Concert.?? Alto Julie Freedman Smith narrates and sings Little Red Riding Hood accompanied by Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 95, performed by members of Kensington Sinfonia, with puppetry by Green Fools Theatre.?? Be a part of this one-of-a-kind, engaging experience. The show is most suited to elementary school-aged children, but is created for all to enjoy.?? This approximately 55-minute free concert will take place at Central Library Performance Hall (800 3 Street SE, Calgary).  Tickets are $10, but to make the event accessible and affordable to all, audience members can use promo codes for either 50% or 100% off to create a pricing that works for them. The Calgary Philharmonic Presents Beethoven Lives Upstairs.

Young Christoph is quite upset when the composer Beethoven moves into his late father’s upstairs office. Being completely deaf, Beethoven is neither aware of nor cares about the noise he creates, and Christoph writes his uncle concerned about the ‘madman’ living upstairs.
