National Music Centre's Jam Club.

Join the National Music Centre's free after-school Jam Club program! Youth ages 13-19 are invited to jam, practice their skills, and explore their creative potential, all while making new friends, every Thursday at Studio Bell. The best part? The program is free! Choose from the National Music Centre's extensive fleet of instruments, ranging from keyboards, acoustic and electric guitars with amplifiers, ukuleles and drum kits! Each week, participants will be supported by a team of skilled musicians, multi-instrumentalists, and experienced educators. As a drop-in program, students can drop in at any time between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm and there is no obligation to attend week to week. Snacks, drinks, and pizza are provided.

Youth Engagement Squad.

Quest’s Youth Squad is a FREE drama program for youth aged 14 - 18. Young people will work with and learn from Quest Theatre artists to explore theatre, music, improv, clown, mask, mask building, and performance. Exploration will produce a youth ensemble that will have opportunities in street performance at the Farmers and Makers Market at cSPACE and in the surrounding Marda Loop community. No experience is necessary, and youth do not have to come every Saturday to participate. Youth will: Gain volunteer experience Participate in a creative Internship Train, learn, and explore Acquire creative leadership experience Gain job skills Build friendships Receive unique perks Details Start Date: June 4th, 2022 When? Granary Road’s Family Fun Fair.

Granary Road's biggest festival of the year is on August 20th and 21st! Family Fun Fair is our take on a good old-fashioned carnival, with tons of games, prizes, and carnival treats! With your tickets, you can play all of our carnival games (such as ring toss), where every game is a winner. Want an even bigger prize? Play Paul's Amusements fun carnival games too. No carnival day is complete without some delicious treats like caramel apples, cotton candy, french fries and more! Shop from our Farmer's Market vendors who will each have their own take on a fair. RBC Race for the Kids.

After two years of operating as a virtual event during the pandemic, RBC Race for the Kids is back with a day of in-person fun that includes a 6-km family walk/run, race T-shirt, pancake breakfast, as well as all-day parking and access to Heritage Park on September 11, 2022. Now in its sixth year, RBC Race for the Kids funds programs and services that help kids in our community who are struggling with their mental health. Registrants can set up their own fundraising page to reach out to family and friends for support. If you would like to learn more about the kind of programs and services RBC Race for the Kids supports, visit buildthemup.ca Register early for a chance to see Blake Shelton in concert! Anyone who signs up before June 30 will be entered to win two tickets to see Blake Shelton live at the Scotiabank Saddledome during the Calgary Stampede on July 16. You don’t have to worry about paying Stampede gate admission, either – this prize package includes free access to the grounds. Registration opens June 8 with special early-bird pricing of $25 for adults and $15 for youth age 3-17. Children 2 and under are free.

The Calgary Philharmonic Presents Symphony Sundays for Kids – Firebird for the Family.

The Firebird?comes to life with music and dance in this family-friendly concert featuring the Orchestra and members of Alberta Ballet School. Igor Stravinsky based this popular work on a folk tale about a prince who encounters a mysterious firebird and receives a magic feather that helps him defeat an evil wizard. The concert opens with?The Three-Cornered Hat, a ballet with traditional Spanish dancing choreographed by Léonide Massine to music by Manuel de Falla. The Calgary Philharmonic Presents Charlotte and the Music Maker.

The Calgary Philharmonic Presents Beethoven Lives Upstairs.

Young Christoph is quite upset when the composer Beethoven moves into his late father’s upstairs office. Being completely deaf, Beethoven is neither aware of nor cares about the noise he creates, and Christoph writes his uncle concerned about the ‘madman’ living upstairs.
