It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Nope, not Christmas - Halloween! I have loved Halloween since I was a wee. Maybe it was the fact that you could go door to door and people would give you candy. I mean, that was good but for me, but it was the excitement of deciding who I wanted to be for Halloween and how I was going to make the costume with my mom (and winterize it for Canadian weather, of course). It is my absolute favorite time of the year because it is a time when kids of all ages can be anyone they like. It’s just so fun!
Before you start preparing that traditional breakfast in bed for dad on Father’s Day, consider some of these outings first. If dad is itching for an adventure this year, why not try one or even a few of these family activities? And don’t forget to snap photos of everyone enjoying special day because this is going to be his best Father’s Day yet!
Do your kids wake up excited on every single holiday, waiting for the day to begin? Do you jump out of bed with a smile on your face, ready to make a special breakfast? Yeah… me neither. And Valentine’s Day is no exception. For me or the kids. I do, however, strive to make special treats and do fun activities on holidays, including Valentine’s Day! My trick is to do as much ahead of time as possible! This Valentine’s Day, waffle sticks fit the bill for breakfast, including a special treat and a fun activity. Make-ahead treats, little gifts that I can buy the week before (or the day before, who am I kidding?), and a special activity on the calendar all in one.
If Christmas is the backdrop for some of your fondest childhood memories, you are not alone. Many people cherry-pick their very best holiday recollections and carry them into adulthood. A recent poll found that Christmas is overwhelmingly the most popular and widely-practiced of all holidays. Regardless of religious affiliation, 9 out of 10 people celebrate some form of Christmas.
